About
Carolina Burkhard is an international dancer, teacher, and choreographer, originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She began her professional artistic training in Argentina, graduating as a Choreographer and Dance Interpreter, with a strong foundation in contemporary dance, theater jazz, ballet, tap, and hip-hop. Throughout her formative years, she continuously trained at different dance schools and artistic institutions in Buenos Aires, including Reina Reech Dance Studios and U.N.A. building a broad, versatile, and well-rounded artistic background.
Specialized in Argentine Tango, the original dance of her country, Carolina grew up immersed in tango culture and has spent over 14 years training intensively in Buenos Aires. Her formation includes classic tango salón, traditional styles learned from old-school milongueros, nuevo tango, and stage tango. She completed the International Tango Salon Teacher Career at Corporación Tango, a professional qualification recognized by the International Dance Council (CID).
In parallel, she has developed a professional background in urban and Latin styles such as femme style (heels), reggaeton, bachata, and Latin rhythms, which enrich her movement quality, musicality, and choreographic approach.
To complement her dance career, Carolina also became a qualified Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer, integrating body awareness, conditioning, and physical well-being into her classes. She currently teaches both group and private sessions.
She has performed and taught across Argentina and Europe, working in emblematic venues, festivals, and international programs. Since 2018, she has been based in London, from where she teaches, performs, and travels internationally, creating dance journeys and immersive experiences that connect people with Argentine culture, movement, and the living essence of tango.
Her teaching philosophy is rooted in connection, musicality, elegance, and clarity, encouraging students to move with confidence while discovering their own expression within the essence of Argentine Tango.
