FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT THE JOURNEYS
What types of journeys do you offer?
I offer three curated travel experiences in Buenos Aires and Argentina:
• Explore Buenos Aires & Beyond Journeys
• Tango Immersion Journeys
• Buenos Aires Wellness & Tango Retreat – Solo Women
Each journey is boutique, small-group, and personally hosted.
What makes these journeys different from regular tours?
These are not standard tours or festival packages. They are carefully curated experiences combining tango, culture, local insight, and personal guidance, with flexibility built in. Quality, depth, and human connection are the focus.
Are these trips suitable for solo travelers?
Yes. Many participants travel solo. All journeys are designed to be safe, welcoming, and well-supported, with particular care for solo travelers.
TANGO & EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Do I need previous tango experience?
No. Some journeys welcome complete beginners, while others are designed for dancers with experience. Each trip clearly states its level focus.
How are classes adapted to my level?
Classes and workshops are selected according to both group dynamics and individual levels. As a professional tango teacher, your host assesses each dancer’s experience, goals, and interests, ensuring meaningful progress rather than generic instruction.
Will I dance every day?
Dancing opportunities are offered daily, but participation is always optional.
FESTIVAL & DATES (IMPORTANT)
Are the Tango World Championship dates confirmed?
No. Official festival dates are announced close to the event. Trip dates are estimated based on previous years.
What if festival dates change?
Some days of the journey may not coincide with official festival activities. While the intention is to overlap with the Championship period, this cannot be guaranteed.
Will every day include official festival activities?
No. This is not guaranteed, and participation in official events depends on the final festival schedule.
ACCOMMODATION & LOGISTICS
Is accommodation included?
Yes. Accommodation is included as specified in each journey description.
Will I share a room?
Prices are based on shared accommodation. Single room supplements are available in limited numbers.
Is transportation included?
Unless explicitly stated, transportation to and from activities (taxis, Uber, public transport) is not included and is the traveler’s responsibility.
How do we move around the city?
Participants usually use taxis or Uber, which are affordable and widely available.
Are meals included?
Only the welcome meal is included. It may be a lunch or dinner depending on group arrival times and includes soft drinks only (no alcohol).
ARGENTINA & PRACTICAL TRAVEL TIPS
Is Buenos Aires safe?
Buenos Aires is a large metropolitan city. Basic urban awareness and personal responsibility are expected at all times.
What should I pack? What’s the weather like?
Buenos Aires seasons are generally mild, but weather patterns can be unpredictable.
Participants will receive a detailed packing guide closer to departure, adapted to the season of travel.
Layered clothing is recommended, along with comfortable walking shoes and tango attire suitable for both warm and cooler evenings.
Should I bring cash? What currency is best?
Cash is useful in Argentina, especially for small expenses.
New, clean US dollar bills (“large head”) are strongly recommended, as they are easier to exchange and offer better rates than older or damaged bills.
US dollars are generally easier to exchange than British pounds. Guidance on exchange options will be provided before arrival.
Electricity & adapters
Argentina uses Type C and I plugs (220V).
Travelers are advised to bring a universal adapter if needed.
EXTENSIONS & LUGGAGE
Can I join an extension without the main journey?
No. Extensions are available only to confirmed participants of the main journey.
What happens to my luggage during extensions?
When traveling light, main luggage may be stored at the Buenos Aires hotel. While this is common practice, luggage remains the traveler’s responsibility.
BOOKING & PAYMENTS
How do I book?
Complete the registration form to confirm availability.
A deposit is required to secure your place, with the remaining balance due closer to departure.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is £900 and is non-refundable.
When is the remaining balance due?
The remaining balance is due 12 weeks before departure.
What happens if I don’t pay the balance on time?
If the balance is not received by the deadline, the reservation is cancelled and the deposit forfeited.
CANCELLATIONS & CHANGES
What if the organizer cancels the trip?
If the minimum group size is not reached, all payments, including the deposit, are fully refunded.
Is the deposit refundable if I cancel?
No. The deposit is strictly non-refundable.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
The remaining balance is refundable up to 60 days before departure. After that, it becomes non-refundable.
Should I book my flight before confirmation?
No. Please wait until the trip is officially confirmed before booking international flights.
